A Touching Memory

I finally decided to post this "Drawing in Church" page.  A friend of our "passed into the Lord's Presence" after a 10 yr. struggle with Breast Cancer, remission, Chemo, and whatever.  She was so upbeat and just had her 50th birthday a few days before passing.
On this next Sunday, the choir sang this wonderful song by the Gaither's, and the words were so fitting, I just had to put something down on paper in memory of Laura. (BTW, several years ago, she and a friend co-authored a book "Praying Through Cancer.")

Jolynn

I sketched a lady named Jolynn today. I always find this angle the hardest to do, just barely a glimpse of the face and glasses are difficult for me too. She was intent on the sermon.

A bit Of Hawai'i In Church

I looked around church for someone to sketch and this guy's shirt was yelling, "Pick me, pick me," so I did.
He was surrounded by people wearing dark colors so his bright green Hawaiian shirt stood out like crazy.
Fun painting.

On this Sunday say a prayer for all the loss of life and property from the terrible weather.

Just a Note To Ask

I got a note from Vicky who wanted to be removed from our Blog (which she did) and was still receiving emails so I took her off that option.

My question is; does anyone else want to be removed from the 'comment emails'?

Also, our numbers are dwindling....should we delete the Blog as well?

Drawing in Church...continued

I just had to sketch this couple--He, with his Gray, curly (all-over-the-place) hair AND She, with the biggest, blackest wig (I'm sure!) I've ever seen. I didn't have enough room to get all of the Black hair. I had started taking "notes" before I started to sketch so that's why I ran out of space. Very interesting--but then, so was the Sermon :-)

This lady always wears the most interesting clothes in church.  I have a feeling that she is interesting to talk to also but she always leaves before I get a chance.

These two ladies sat in front of us and when they turned around to introduce themselves, imagine our surprise when they said they were from Green Bay, Wis. and then continued on, "you know, where the Packers are!"
Really?!

You know we had fun with that one.

Drawing in Church

I love noticing these two playing their violins (in our Church Orchestra)....they are always into the music and right together. After the music worship, they sat a few rows in front of us--just "begging" for a sketch.
I used my watercolor pencils on this--and feel like I need a little more practice with them :-0

Catching Up

I have been so remiss in posting here so am playing catch up.
Marj and Patti reminded me with their beautiful church art.
All were done in my small watercolor Moleskine.

Tiffany

This is Tiffany - I redid her profile and nose about 10 times. She and her boyfriend just announced their engagement today. I love seeing young people in love!

Make a Joyful Noise!

I wanted to post this right away but got busy and just didn't do it....Such a great time of Worship and Singing this particular Sunday! Our Church is blessed to have many musicians with many talents! I just had to sketch them :-)
I take notes (and sketch) every week, but I don't always think they are worthy of posting... I drop in the watercolor when I get home so that no one will be distracted by my art (?) or craftiness :-) Helps me to focus on all the singing and preaching.
